A beauty box turned up this week, and I've got one rule for every one I review. I ignore the "worth over" number on the front and ask a single question about each product: would I buy the full size with my own money?

That's it. It sounds too simple, but it cuts through a lot.

The box was the LOOKFANTASTIC Dermatological Edit. It says it's worth over £195 and costs £50, so on paper it's a great deal. But I've found the number on the front tells me less than how many of the products I'd go back for.

So I went through all seven. Three got a clear yes: an SPF, a shower oil and a body exfoliant. The luxury cream was lovely, but I'd need to be seriously impressed before paying full price. And the exfoliating cleanser got a "good, but I'd finish the tube first".

Three out of seven is a decent result for me (a box where I'd rebuy one thing is a box I'd skip).

There's one more check I do now, which is testing my own discount code on the box before I say it works. LFTFNEVEEN took this one from £50 to £39.50.

If you want every verdict, including a seb derm label check on the cleanser, it's all in my full LOOKFANTASTIC Dermatological Edit review. Everything else my code works on is on my LOOKFANTASTIC discount code page.

The Dermatological Edit was gifted to me by LOOKFANTASTIC, and LFTFNEVEEN is my affiliate code, so I earn commission if you use it.
